Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actor from the United States. Since the late 80s she has been working in film and TV. The actress has won many awards, including sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Bassett born in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt following her birth to New York New York, is a well-known actress. As Bassett was about five the family were moved from the city of St. Petersburg, Florida to stay with their mother who had separated from their father. Bassett watched the James Earl Jones in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men play while she was still at high school and decided that she was an actor and wanted to do. In the year 1980, Bassett graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with the degree of African American studies. She also received a degree from The Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a fellow actor and the two got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Master of Arts (Afro-American Studies) in 1980. An M.A. in Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett, who plays Ramonda the female lead in the action adventure film I. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
